School Placement 'Our Lady Queen of Peace, Yes That's The Name of The School'
Just finished my second week of school placement at 'Our Lady Queen of Peace' primary school. Quite a mouthful isn't it? It's a catholic primary school named after the church nearby, I teach P4 (groep 4) which is ms. Magee's class. It's a class of 30 pupils who call me Ms. Manon (pronounced as muhnown). I'm having such a good time, the kids are adorable.
Last Thursday I even got to go on a field trip to Cerickfirgus Castle. In primary schools they get a topic each 6 weeks, the topic they now work on is castles. The field trip was super, and the kids loved it. I got some wee pictures to show you too!
Today I got to teach a lesson about the Netherlands with Els (who's also Dutch). We made an interactive powerpoint in quiz form. Els even brought stroopwafels and rookworst for the kids to try. They liked the 'sausage' better haha. In the end we taught them 'hoofd, schouders, knie en teen', they pronounced 'puntje van je neus' as 'punch your funny nose'. They all came dressed up to school as their favorite character as a fund raiser for Troqaire, so I have some pictures of that too.
Now it's just counting down since I'm coming back on the 29th of March! So I'm going to see all of you guys soon!
Miss you still. - Manon
