Chicken's Country Restaurant is worth more than a visit, it is out of sight!

St. Libori, Illinois---

Leave the St. Louis rat race behind folks!

Closed Mondays, opens 11 am Tuesdays thru Saturday, opens 8 am Sundays.  Cash only.

If you want real dining and country living, go to Chicken Country Restaruant.  It is a not too far, but a hour ride from the St. Louis Gateway Arch.  First of all, get an Illinois map.  You could get lost.

From the Arch try getting to I-64 east to exit 23 and go south to Illinois highway 15, then go west to St. Libory.  At Lincoln street and highway 15 is the restaruant.

From the Arch you can also go a bit longer but more scenic way on the Missouri side of the Mississippi river. Take I-55 south to I-255 and go east  over the JB bridge.  Go south on Illinois state highway 3 through Columbia, Illinois till you get to the Millstadt exit on highway 158.  Go east on it to the Douglas-Freeburg road (an electric substation is at the turn) and travel on it to Freeburg, Illionois.  Highway 15 is the one you stay on and make sure you stay on 15 all the way east to St. Libory, Illinois.  Almost out of town is Chicken Country Restuarant on your right at the corner of Lincoln road and highway 15.

Chicken's Restauant is all about country feasting!   Unreal and fabulous dining area and a big, formal dining room for banquets, this is the place to be, especially on Tuesday's when you can get $3 pitchers of beer and $6 one topping pizzas that are 16 inches in diameter!  The chicken is great.

Cash only or local check, this place is a hoot.  Outside dining on their deck, or inside for bar side dining, this place also has buffet dining for $8 in a very well decorated and excellent dining experience.  It will knock you out how much attention to detail is given to the dining experience in this little but quaint Illinois town. However formal or informal the day, this restaurant has it all, from a bar to a banquet hall (excellently decorated by the way).

Highly recommended for a fall day of joy riding, bring cash as no credit cards are accepted. Happy Holidays!
