It is among the finest example of Rajputana architectures which showcases the architectural and decoration pattern of Medieval European and Chinese. Towering on the banks of Pichola Lake it is known for its beautiful towers, domes, arches, pavilions, courtyards, terraces, rooms and hanging gardens. This palace is known for decorative tile work, exceptional paintings, antique collections and delicate glasswork which are truly a feast to the eyes

 

It is among the most popular attractions of this place which is considered as the best solar observing site in Asia.  This observatory is situated on an island in the Fateh Sagar Lake whose design is based on the model of Solar Observatory at Big Bear Lake in Southern California. It was established by Dr. Arvind Bhatnagar with cooperation from Vedhashala Trust of Ahmedabad in 1975.
