Last night was wild. We woke in the middle of the night to severe thunder and lightening. The thunder actually shook the trailer. Wingnut was terrified and shook all night. He always acts so tough! It was difficult to get back to sleep with all the noise and once we did we ended up sleeping until 8am. We walked to CutlerBridge, the last in our tour. It had been moved to the park next to the RV park. We enjoyed a leisure morning which included a big breakfast. We weren’t on the road 10 minutes when the rain started. The wind and rain were terrible until we hit Kansas City, MO. The wind never let up, but at least the rain did. We passed the Kansas Raceway, which will be having a big NASCAR event this weekend. Just passed the raceway we saw a serious accident and were reminded of how quickly things can change. We found our way to Topeka and a fantastic campground. The grounds were beautiful and it didn’t take us long to figure out why. They have a very hard working grounds man that felt the need to trim the grass then use his blower right next to our trailer soon as we set up. We found this service very annoying after a long day on the road! Gourmet dinner tonight…hotdogs and top ramon!
