Christmas 2009 in Kimmswick, Missouri
Kimmswick, Mo. in December------ its all about Christmas in Kimmswick, Missouri, U.S.A. Not far from St. Louis, most of these photos were taken during the holiday season of 2009. Monday is probably not a good day to visit Kimmswick, but as Christmas draws near some shops will stay open on Mondays as well. There are more shops made from converted homes than pictured in this album, but this will give you an idea of the town sitting by the Mississippi River just south of St. Louis, Mo.
Featured is the Blue Owl Restaurant with the largest menu offering breakfast and lunch items. Their desserts are a specialty but you can get most anything else there too. A smaller restaurant with smaller menu would include the Dough Depot shown here along with the Kimmswick Guesthaus (haus is house in German). It is not open on Mondays.
The Cozy Cottage has more upscale, expensive gifts mostly for the home or female shoppers. Kimmswick Korner has hundreds of small, inexpensive gifts, cards, ornaments. Mississippi Mud is an upscale gift shop selling mostly things for the home but also cards and coffee mugs and smaller things. All of Kimmswick is an easy walk and would only take at most a half day or less to visit every part of town.
