Neil arrived in Adelaide on 17th April, Amy and I met him at the bus station at 6am.  We were so scared that we were going to get ambushed by Abo’s but we were ok!!  We didn’t do anything that weekend, can’t really remember why!  Think we were just saving some money and having dvd nights.  On Monday, Malcolm had some good news for Amy, one of his friends from a seed factory had two weeks work and as Amy was ready to go home because she was nearly out of cash, was really handy for her!!  She started on the Tuesday. Me and Neil spent the week looking for jobs and wandering around Adelaide.  We went to Harbor Town, which is supposed to be a shopping outlet. It isn’t very good at all!!  Neil applied for a few jobs up there but nothing really came through!

I was getting really bored then and decided I had to go somewhere or do something otherwise I was just wasting money in Adelaide.  I decided to book a tour to Alice Springs. Kelly, who I had met in Melbourne called me to tell me she was coming to Adelaide for a week and could she meet up with me.  That was cool, she was coming down on the Wednesday and I would go on my tour on the Saturday.  That gave me a few days with her.  When Kelly arrived we took her round the city and we went to the art gallery and just pottered around.  It was so nice to see her again, didn’t think I would see her until I got back to England!  Anyway, as soon as I booked my tour, Dave came home from work one day and said that his factory were looking for girls to grade potatoes and handed us application forms.  Typical!!  Me and Amy filled them in and two days before my trip I got a call from Melanie at Comit Farm!!!  I explained that I was going on a trip for a week and she told me to call her when I was back to arrange an interview. Sweet!!!  That day, I also got my hair done.  I couldn’t put up with my dodgy, three toned hair any longer.  It cost me $140 for half head of highlights and a cut.  Wasn’t bad and I absolutely loved it.  Back to blonde!  Was so happy!!  That night, a Thursday, was the last night I could go out before my trip so we got gooned up and me Neil and Kelly went out to Mars Bar.  Amy had been working all week and was too tired to come out, she had to go to work on the Friday anyway.  As we were getting ready, Malcolm came and said he had some work for us the next day.  I mentioned before that he owned the building of the hostel across the road, well the lease on the hostel was up and as of the 1st May, he also owned the hostel and he asked if we would help clean it up for when he started to renovate it.  That meant we couldn’t really drink too much that night.  Well that was the plan but as always, I don’t really know when to stop drinking!!  We had a really good night, Mars Bar was shit, there was about 5 people in the club, but we made our own fun!!!  We had to start work at 8 the next morning.  We were SO rough!!  Cleaning dirty toilets with a hangover is not fun AT ALL!!  We worked until about 5.30 that afternoon.  Malcolm paid us $150 for the day which we were chuffed to bits with!  We did a really good job with cleaning the hostel!  It was so funny, we had a right laugh!!  That night we all relaxed and watched a movie.  I went to bed after packing my bags for my trip.  I was so excited!!  Said goodbye to Kelly - again! I wouldn’t be seeing her until England now.  She was heading to Perth on the Tuesday before flying home at the end of May.  I got an early night, had to be up at 5.30 for my trip!  Yay!!  Ayers rock here I come!!
