We are ready to leave Dallas and head on to our next destination. Where? Around the Cisco area we started spotting prickly pear cactus. As we were driving along I mentioned to Michael, "I wonder where all the oil pump rigs are that Texas is famous for?" Not too far ahead we spotted wind turbine farms. Michael was in his glory. So of course we had to get as close as we could. So we got on an unnamed road (sorry Tina) and followed it down. While going we spotted an oil rig! And from then on out they were everywhere, and smell! (like perms in the 80's). While stopping in Midland - Home of George W. & Laura Bush- we came across a horny lizard. We got to Odessa and saw a sign for a crater, Michael had to go see it. Nothing really to see. We stopped for the night at Monahans Sandhill State Park to set up camp. It was like being at the Outer Banks, NC, but without the ocean. They have cattle roaming kinda like ponies in Assategue. It's warm but the wind is blowing constantly. Time to sleep.
