Viewed: 342

My wife Rita and I fly by air (Skyeurope) to Wien (2 tickets two ways, all inclusive 52 Euro …good..).

Although Wien is a capital, life seems very calm, the people is cordial.

Places we have chosen to visit (thinking them important)

The Secession for wonderful "the great frieze of Beethoven" of Klimt.

The BelvedereMuseum and garden for its great collections and.... for Klimt (remember here you see my favourite.. the wonderful "The Kiss"), and Schiele (Great!), Kokoschka

The AlbertinaMuseum one of the most important museum of graphical arts and great temporary exhibition (we have seen a great exhibition of Vincent Van Gogh)

Walking in the Graben and visit to the Stephansdom, Michaelerkirche, Ruprechtskirchre, Peterskirche.

The Hofsburg, the imperial palaces with the Gothic Chapel and many others artistic sites and

collection to see.

The Hudertwasser Haus original style house

CLIMATE

We have found good weather

LODGING

We have lodged to the hotel Kolping Zentral (3*), to the centre, at reasonable

cost of 81 euro with rich breakfast.

FOOD

we have found all type of restaurants, and prices are

reasonable.

We have eat the Austrian cook to the beer house Siebensternbrau

(around 30 euro for two all inclusive)

For a fast lunch we have gone to the Nordsee (only fish) (10-12 euro each)

And.. of course.. italian restaurant Asino D'oro near the Albertina around 20-25 euro each.

We have also eat at restaurant of AlbertinaMuseum (22 euro each)

TRANSPORTS

From the airport a train (not the CAT) brings us to the city with euro 1,7 each

Tramway, subway and bus, very efficient, clean, to the stops punctual

indications on the lead times, we have purchased 2 tickets for free circulation

for 3 days  (13,60 euro each).

Don't forget to do a tour by tramways 1 or 2 lines (tour of the Ring).
