10 Bucket List Adventures

Viewed: 31
A few days ago, I came across this quote by Paulo Coelho.

“One day you will wake up and there won’t be any more time to do the things you’ve always wanted. Do it now.”

This quote not only made me put my life into perspective, but also inspired me to create my very own Bucket List.

Below I have added 10 Bucket List Adventures to help inspire you, when creating yours. They may not all resonate to you, so just pick the ones that you really want to do! For your convenience, I’ve also added some useful resources to aid you in your bucket list quest!

1. Take a Trip to the Galapagos Islands
Where: Ecuador
This volcanic archipelago located within the Pacific Ocean is famous for its number of endemic species discovered and studied by Charles Darwin. On the islands you can find everything from flightless cormorants, marine iguanas, Galapagos penguins and lots of other kind of animals not found anywhere else in the world.

2. Visit the Ajanta and Ellora Caves
Where: Maharashtra, India
If you are a lover of ancient Hindu, Buddhist and Jain religious art and rock cut architecture, the UNESCO World Heritage caves would be perfect for your bucket list.

3. Visit the Sistine Chapel
Where: Vatican City, Italy
Located with the Apostolic Palace, features the works of great masters such as Michelangelo, Sandro Botticelli and Raphael.  Spend time gazing at the outstanding Sistine Chapel Ceiling and “The Last Judgment” on the altar wall painted by Michelangelo.

4. Walk across a frozen river on the Chadar trek
Where: Ladakh, India
If you’re brave enough to survive the sub-zero conditions in the Himalayas, make sure you go for the Chadar trek. During the winter, the Zanskar River completely freezes creating a vast ice sheet, which makes it ideal for trekking.

5. Paraglide over Rio de Janeiro
Where: Brazil
Offering the best views of the famous Ipanema and Copacabana beaches, as well as the surrounding mountains. This hang gliding experience over the city is a must-do for all adventure junkies

6. Go Camping under the Northern Lights
Where: Iceland
Experience the surreal world where the clear night sky is completely lit up by the celestial ballet of a natural phenomenon called the aurora borealis, also known as the Northern Lights.

7. Jump off the South Point cliffs
Where: Hawaii, U.S.
Located in the most southern point of the Big Island of Hawaii, you will find the awe-inspiring cliffs where many travellers muster up the courage to take a big free fall.

8. Walk the Great Wall of China
Where: China
Stretching along the northern boarders of China, the Great Wall was originally built to protect the Chinese against raids and invasions. It is now one of the most iconic parts of history and one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

9. Go See the Fjords of Norway
Where: Norway
Especially famed by their breath-taking beauty, the fjords (a long narrow inlet with steep sides that is created by a glacial erosion) of Norway, should be on everyone’s bucket list.

10. Go Scuba Diving at Blue Corner Wall
Where: Palau, Micronesia
Listed amongst one of the Best Places to Scuba Dive in the World, Palau diving offers an immense volume of fish species and is also known as a prime location to swim with sharks.
