Splash Out on a Holiday to Alcudia

When I first started planning my holiday to Spain I wasn’t sure where would be the best place to take my family – there were so many different locations that offered great family fun for younger kids, but my two are teenagers now and are distinctly harder to impress than they used to be! I finally settled on a holiday to Alcudia in Mallorca after reading it had plenty beaches, waterparks and water sports on offer that would keep the kids entertained, but also has romantic spots and nightlife for my partner and I to enjoy.

Little did I know that visits to the Tavernas and clubs would be the last thing on our minds once we had sample what Alcudia’s waters had to offer! I would never describe myself as much of a “water baby”, but the kids were keen to try out jet skiing and wake boarding and in a desperate bid for a quiet life I relented. We looked into all the various jet ski suppliers Alcudia has to offer and balked at the prices before eventually stumbling across the Tudor Dawn Yacht Charters company, which promised to take you and your family across the Pollensa Bay and anchor in a secluded area – the kids could play in the water while my partner and I sunned ourselves on the deck. This seemed like the perfect middle ground for us and so we chartered a yacht to go out the next day.

The captain, Simon, meant us at the port and we set out in the morning. While making our way to where we would drop anchor, Simon walked the kids through everything he was doing and even let our youngest steer along with him. Once we anchored in the bay the kids were straight into the water and begging to try out the jet skis and banana boats. They had a whale of a time mucking around in the water while my partner and I lay back on the aft deck, enjoying the sun and watching them do what they hadn’t done in years – play! After they had tired themselves out in the water they joined us on the boat and a delicious smorgasbord of Mediterranean foods was brought out for us for lunch, with our choice of cold drinks.

We had an amazing day aboard the Tudor Dawn yacht – so much so that we went back the day before we were due to leave and I even got in the water this time! A day cruise in Alcudia is fun for absolutely everyone in the family and gets you away from the hustle and bustle of Alcudia’s beaches; the kids are entertained, you can relax knowing they are in good hands and everything you could need is provided for you. Just make sure you bring plenty of waterproof sun lotion!
