My Tibet Adventure

Viewed: 384
I am from Malaysia and I always fascinated with Tibet. Initially I plan to travel alone to Tibet but the cost is too high to travel alone as I need to rent a 4wd and also tour guide in Tibet.   When my friend ask in Facebook whether anyone interested to join their trip as 1 of them pull out due to personal reason, I jump at the chance and book ticket to Chengdu to show that I am really interested. they already got all the itinerary iron out and the tour guide in Lhasa help us to apply for permit to enter Tibet. so I just let them plan and didn't really do much planning myself.
We fly from Chengdu to Nyingchi airport as we know them many people experienced altitude sickness as Lhasa city is located 3700m above sea level. Nyingchi is located at 2500 m and we have time to slowly adapt to the altitude. We have problem breathing but we cope slowly and start our adventure in a 4WD we rented for 14 days with a tour guide.
Most of the temple or interesting places is far and we have to spend up to 8 hours in the car sometimes as we need to travel within the time limit and also enter some small town as permitted by the permit. The scenery along the road keep us awake. We experienced some really rough and dangerous off road at Nyingchi area and we pass by some mountain pass at 5200m above sea level. The sun is hot while the weather is cold and dry. The culture and the devotion of Tibetan to their religion is amazing and its really an eye opener for us to see them praying whole day and travel from faraway places to their holy site to offer their prayer. We experienced Summer, spring, winter and autumn all in Tibet as the landscape and weather changing from time to time. The sky is super blue and we feel so much closer to the sky (since we are at the roof of the world)
There is so much to say about Tibet. I would like to travel to Tibet again if I got the time and money and everyone should experience Tibet as its a truly wonderful and amazing place.
