Xi'an Day 4
We had a lovely lie in this morning, well until 9:30am anyway. We then braved the communal showers which weren’t too bad, just smelt of cabbage. We went out for a walk and to withdraw some money and then spent the rest of the day chilling at the hostel.
Later we headed over to the train station to get our train to Shanghai. What a nightmare. There were hardly any signs in English and the big board with all the train information only had numbers in English which also didn’t help. We managed to get some directions out of a lady at the information desk and headed to our departure lounge. This was very comfy and we bought lots of snacks. Oreos and crisps – what a healthy dinner!
When our train was boarding we left the departure lounge and suddenly started panicking. There were no signs to direct us to the correct platform. We asked one person and we didn’t have a clue what they were trying to tell us. We finally asked a police woman who directed us and the panic ended.
We were sharing a room with one other Chinese man, who was very quiet. That suited me as I didn’t fancy chatting. I spent the first couple of hours of the journey working on my publication. James played on FIFA.
