Many people are visiting on the holidays Egypt just to experience the pyramids and they prefer a certain one, the great pyramid of Giza or the pyramid of Cheops as it’s also called. This pyramid is one of the largest pyramids in the world and also the oldest of the seven wonders of the world. It is here the Pharaoh Khufu rests for eternity. This pyramid was the tallest man-made structure for over 3800 years.
There is also a temple called Luxor Temple which is a large Egyptian temple complex located on the east bank of the river Nile. This temple was dedicated to the three gods Amum, Mut and Chons. Much of the temple is still standing to this day.
If you like you can also visit The Valley of the Kings which is a valley located on the west bank of the Nile. Here they built tombs for Pharaohs and Nobles for nearly 500 years. So far the valley is known to contain 63 tombs and chambers and there are many tombs that are still undiscovered. The valley is also called The Valley of the Dead and should be an exciting place for all tourists.
If you’re in Cairo you can also visit the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities or as it’s more commonly called, the Egyptian Museum. Here they have the worlds greatest collection of ancient Egyptians antiquities. They have more than 136.000 items on display and a lot more in it’s basement storerooms
