Whitsundays trip

Hi dudes and dudettes,
Hope you're all well and not too bored with my updates now. I'm actually so proud of myself for still writing them, but don't worry, I won't be testing you on the content so feel free to delete!!
So.....I have just come off the boat from my Whitsundays trip......WOWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! (I know I said that before re. Fraser Island, but this may even have beaten that 'wow', but in a totally different way!)
As we were boarding our boat we met a friend (who was just coming off his Whitsundays boat) who informed us that he had been bitten by a shark on his hand whilst snorkelling, which I thought was a total joke, until he showed me the wound, and his dive instructor then confirmed it....GRRRRRREAT!!! This was clearly gonna be an adventure!....
We were on a slick catamaran called 'Powerplay'...."lush islands where ancient rainforest meets the crystal clear waters of the Coral Sea, vibrant underwater gardens rich with amazing marine life and awesome Whitehaven Beach...pure bliss". (OK, OK, I cut and paste that from the website but it sounds good, eh?!)
The catamaran really was sheer luxury (esp compared to all the other boats) and even had a hot tub (I know!). More importantly, we had a really great group with us which made it a really fun trip. We had 18 in the group - all roughly my age and we all got on brilliantly.....and they all new Bohemian Rhapsody which proved very eventful on the second night!! :)
We did loads of snorkelling and scuba diving (I had to quickly get over my fear of fish touching me and was swimming with turtles and all sorts by the end - check out my underwater photos - so cool!). On one of the evenings we were having post-dinner drinks at the back of the boat and a gorgeous dolphin came and played games with us for an hour or so - we were playing with the torch and it was chasing the light and and jumping around - an amazing experience, so cute!
We did all the normal haunts - the beautiful Whitehaven Beach, Hooks Island etc, and loads more than the other boats as ours was so much faster, and our crew seemed to be really good and know where to go to do the best diving. I have a load of photos (including a load of underwater ones which may, or may not, interest you!) so have a look - and check out the turtle ones especially! The photos speak for themselves and we have our post-trip party in an hour so I have to go and have a quick power-nap!
Next stop, Cairns.........
Lots of love xxxx
